This Resort development which consists of a hotel, fractional ownership garden condos, beach club and private signature villas is situated in the Zimbali coastal resort 45kms north of Durban.
This elevated site overlooking the Indian Ocean, includes the natural watercourse which runs through the development. The natural wetland has been rehabilitated and designed to snake through the development allowing for controlled storm water run off. There are also portions of the site consisting of dense natural coastal forest; preserved and incorporated into the final landscape design. Specific species of plants and trees that are endemic to the area have been strictly enforced in the overall plant design. These plants, the rehabilitated wetland and built environment work in synergy to attract the naturally occurring wildlife such as the timid Blue Duiker and Bush Buck.
The naturally occurring coastal dune in front of the hotel has been integrated into the design influencing the pallet of materials used. Water brings together the varying levels of the development visually while providing a coolness and sense of relaxation so needed in the sub-tropical Durban climate.
